Celtic Music Radio - Glasgow
Traditional music radio - 106.6 FM and Online!

This is a fantastic new radio station, recently awarded its Ofcom licence and is currently streaming online and in Glasgow on 106.6FM. There are some great presenters, including Anna Massie and Julie Fowlis! Indeed, what I've heard so far covers a broad spectrum of the Scottish and Irish traditions. Entertaining stuff. Celtic Music RadioApparently, it is publishing on the FM frequency for the following two weeks of the Scottish Internation Piano Festival. After this period, it will continue to stream online, but not on FM, this being replaced in January with an AM radio frequency. Typically lucky buggers in Glasgow! However, the web stream is great so far, so we're not missing out and perhaps the project can be spread to Dundee and Edinburgh in the not too distant future!
Hi,
Glad you like the station....
We were broadcasting on FM for the first fortnight in September, supporting the Piano Competition during the day, and playing contemporary & traditional celtic music at other times. We have also broadcast on FM during the last 2 "Celtic Connections" festivals. There is some material from Celtic Connections 2007 available on the "listen again" section of our website, including all the sessions from the Danny Kyle open stage.
The FM broadcast has now finished, and for the moment we've dropped back to a 24x7 internet-only service. We expect to go "live" on AM around the turn of the year.
Our playlist varies through the day - as I write this, it has included Valery Smith & Liberty Pike, Alasdair Fraser, Rachel Hair, Deanta, Matt McGinn and Blair Douglas.
So have a listen, and please let us know what you think - you can contact us at studio@celticmusicradio.org.uk. We're also happy to receive any demo CDs you may have - the address is on the website.
Bruce.

Sorry for any confusion.
We're now streaming 24x7, and will be on 1530AM from early January. During Celtic Connections 2008, we'll be broadcasting live from the Concert Hall.
